Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy explains what information SharedGrounds collects, who can see it, which companies help us run the App, and how you can delete it. SharedGrounds is provided by Sisters Branding Co LLC ("we," "us"). We know co-parenting records are sensitive, and we built the App to keep them private.
1. What we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details: your email address, name, and password (stored in scrambled, hashed form). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and a sign-in identifier from them.
- Phone number, if you add one to verify your account or turn on two-factor authentication.
- Your answers to the sign-up questions (your situation and what you'd like help with), used to suggest where to start.
- Your content: messages, photos, and files you send; calendar events; shared expenses and receipts; your incident log and its attachments; documents in your vault; and your co-parent's email address when you invite them.
Information collected as you use the App:
- Your device's time zone, so reminders arrive at sensible local times.
- A notification ID for your device if you allow push notifications.
- Error reports when the App crashes (the error, where in the App it happened, and your account ID), so we can fix problems.
- Basic technical information needed to run and secure the service, such as IP addresses in server logs.
Payment information: if you subscribe, payment is handled by Apple, Google, or (on the web) Stripe through RevenueCat. We receive your plan and subscription status, not your card number.
2. Who can see what
- Your co-parent (once they accept your invite) can see the messages, photos, and files you send, your shared calendar events, your shared expenses, and your name and email.
- Only you can see your incident log, your document vault, and your sign-up answers. Your co-parent can't.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
- We may share information when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena, court order or search warrant; when we believe it's needed to protect someone from serious harm; or if the business is sold or merged (the new owner would have to follow this policy). When the law allows, we'll try to let you know before we share anything about you.
3. Companies that help us run the app
We use these service providers, only to operate SharedGrounds:
- Supabase: stores your account and content, and runs our servers.
- Vercel: hosts the SharedGrounds website.
- Anthropic: writes calmer-wording suggestions, only if you turn on suggestions (see section 4).
- OneSignal: delivers push notifications.
- Resend: sends emails, such as co-parent invites.
- Twilio: sends verification text messages.
- RevenueCat and Stripe (web), Apple and Google (phone apps): handle subscriptions and payments.
- Google and Apple: sign-in, if you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple".
- Google Workspace: our support email (support@sharedgrounds.app), including the details of any report you send about a conversation, so we can look into it.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr: deliver fonts and the checkout software to your browser, which means they receive your IP address.
- Firebase (Google): crash reports in the iPhone and Android apps, and basic usage statistics in the apps and on the website, such as which sign-up screens are viewed and which plan is chosen. On the website this uses a Google Analytics cookie. If you're in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, we only use it if you agree, and anyone can turn it off on the website in Settings > Password & Privacy. We don't use it for advertising, and it never includes your messages, records or documents.
4. AI suggestions
Every message is checked for tense wording, on your device as you type and on our servers when it's sent. This check uses fixed rules, not AI, and nothing is sent to an AI provider for it. When a message sounds tense, the App asks you to rephrase it. If you turn on suggestions, that message is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, only to write a calmer version for you. We don't allow it to be used to train AI models. Anthropic may keep it for a limited time (generally up to 30 days) to check for misuse, and then deletes it. Suggestions are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off anytime in Settings.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your account and content while your account is open, because a complete record is the point of the App. Reminder bookkeeping is removed after 60 days, and error reports after 90 days. After you delete your account, we keep it for up to 90 days so you can restore it (see below). Our database is also backed up daily for disaster recovery; backups are kept for a limited time and then overwritten, so deleted information can remain in them for a short period after it's deleted.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account anytime in Settings. Your account is closed right away and permanently deleted 90 days later; until then, you can restore it by signing back in, and your co-parent can't send you new messages. If you'd rather not wait, you can choose to delete it immediately. When your account is deleted, we delete your incident log, your document vault and its files, your invites, your phone verification, and your remembered devices, and we remove your personal details from your profile.
Messages, photos, and files you sent, and shared calendar events and expenses, stay in your co-parent's record, because deleting them would erase their history too.
7. Your choices
- Change your name and email in Settings.
- Turn push notifications, reminders, and AI suggestions on or off in Settings.
- Export your records to a PDF with CourtReady (Protected plan).
- Contact us to ask about the information we hold about you.
8. Security
Your content is protected by access rules in our database, so each person can only reach what they're allowed to see, and it's sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and keep your devices secure.
9. Children
SharedGrounds is for adults 18 and over. Parents may record information about their children in the App; we use it only to provide the App to them.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll tell you in the App or by email before they take effect.
